Junior Academy Structure

In April 2010, the Under 11 Junior Academy will be divided into two functions called; Talent and Potential. The objective behind this methodology is to provide the right player development programme that will allow each player to gain a sound competence level and ensure a smooth transition from softball into hardball cricket:-

Under 11 Talent:- will represent Blackhall playing hardball cricket in the North Yorkshire Cricket Council League and Indoor Cricket Competitions. In April, based upon an assessment of individual skills, a squad of 10 players will be announced.

Under 11 Potential:- will represent the club in all softball festivals around the region and will be called 'Blackhall Lightening'. They will also gain essential hardball experience in games against non threatening teams and also arranged friendlies.

Under 7 Grassroots:- will embrace the ASDA kwik cricket skills awards. Commencing at Bronze level, children will be measured against a skills criteria that will test aspects of catching, throwing, bowling and batting. They will progress into Talent & Potential through age and competence.
